The Blackwyn saga was born during a difficult chapter in his life, when he turned inward to confront the fears of his past. He revisited painful moments from adulthood and adolescence until he reached the roots of his childhood. As a nervous and fearful boy, one of his greatest terrors was the darkness—especially crossing the silent courtyard at night to reach the bathroom, listening to every unsettling noise in the shadows. Writing became his way of releasing those trapped emotions.
